Innovative Programs and Partnerships
|
In order to maximize our effectiveness in our communities, we've
partnered with others to develop innovative programs.
- JA of South Central Kentucky recieved a grant from the
Mastering Money with YOUth partnership from the National Retired
Teachers Association and AARP in the Fall of 2008. Through this
grant, JA was encouraged to form new relationships with local
retired educators who would serve as classroom JA volunteers.
JA was able to fill 8 classes with retired educators in Warren
and Logan Counties! We look forward to working with the retired
educators in our community!
- Partnered with the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce and
its Workforce Development Committee to the
address the need to promote great work ethic among high school
seniors. A new initiative called the Work Ethic Seal
began in August 2005 with the graduating class of 2005. This program
is active in all four Bowling Green/Warren County High Schools and has expanded
to Simpson County High School as well as Edmonson County High School.
The local Chambers partner with local high schools to help
students better understand the importance of strong work ethic
skills. These skills are essential to students if they are to
secure and maintain successful, meaningful employment. Students
