Eligibility Requirements
- Applicant must be a senior with a cumulative un-weighted GPA of 2.8
- Applicant must be in good standing with his/her school
- Applicant must have participated in a Junior Achievement High School Program, Groundhog Job Shadow Program or Teen Business Summit in the County or City School Districts of Allen, Barren, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Simpson, and Warren
- Applicant must be planning to attend a two or four year program at a college or university or technical school
- Applicant must submit a complete application to be considered for the scholarship
- Applications should be typed. If you cannot get your application typed, use black ink and print neatly
Scholarship Policies and Procedures
- One $1000 scholarship will be awarded
to the overall essay winner in any county. Two scholarships
will be awarded in the amount of $500. One to a student in
Bowling Green/Warren County, and the other scholarship to a
student in Allen, Barren, Edmonson, Hart, Logan or Simpson.
- The scholarship selection committee is
made up of educators, JA Board Members and business
professionals. This committee makes the final selection of the
scholarship recipients based on the factors mentioned above.
The scholarship recipients will be announced in March. The
decisions of the committee are final.
- The recipients must submit a written
request and proof of enrollment at a technical school, college
or university to the Junior Achievement office within 6 months
of graduation in order to receive the scholarship money.
- The award will be made directly to the
Financial Aid Office at the college or university the recipients
are attending. The award may be used toward tuition, fees,
books and other required school expenses.

Within the application the following are required:
- Resume, which includes school
activities, extra curricular activities, academic honors, work
experience, community involvement, volunteer experience, etc.
- Official school transcript, which
includes cumulative un-weighted high school grade point average
(GPA).
- Essay (500 words maximum typed)
Sample Essay Question:
Based on your experiences, what do you think is the most urgent problem facing the economy in America?
